Wednesday: went into the city with Katelyn, Marc, Bopp, and Julie. We first went down to Bryant Park to ice-skate snce Central Park was more expensive. I'm proud to say that despite the fact that I was freaking out the whole time, I managed to make it once around the rink. Yes, Katelyn was holding my hand, Marc was behind me, and my other hand was clinging to the wall, but I made it. Ice-skating is very obviously not my sport, but I did get to see once again how wonderful and supportive my friends are. Much thanks guys!!! After I got off the rink I watched everyone else skate around a few more times before we all left and headed for the New York Public Library, which was right nearby. We took our pictures with the lions on the front steps and browsed through the gift shop. After that we took the subway down to the Village for lunch at the Life Cafe. It's a really nice place, complete with a Rent poster and collages from Life magazine on the tables. (that's where it's name comes from) We ate lunch (yummy nachos!), Marc stole some local wireless Internet and played with Photo Shop, and we talked and laughed like always. Bopp left us after that. The rest of us went down to Katelyn's apartment for a bit. We didn't go to The Bodies (again, too expensive), so we browsed around Cannal Street a little instead before taking the train home. Once there, we dropped Marc off and Katelyn, Julie, and I went to the book signing. (Erin was unfortunately unable to join us) The pladce was really crowded, mostly with the usual middle and high school girls who read the Sisterhood books. They didn't have the audio book available for me, but they did put it on order and gave me a bookplate for Anne Brashares to sign. (the book showed up today btw, will probably pick it up tomorrow) We were in the back of a rather long line so we didn't get to hear much of Ms. Brashares' speech, but once we met her she was very nice. She was glad I liked the audio books and seemed genuinely sweet. Cool experience getting to meet her!! We drove home after that, and I crashed, completely exhausted from a rather long day.
Thursday: had Mobility at Nassau. My routes this semester are a mix of easy and completely convoluted, especially in the building and area where my math class is. I think I need more practice in that area, so Ed and I are going back next week to work some more. The rest of the day consisted of hanging out online and watching my shows, all of which were back this week.
Today I just hung out. Hopefully tomorrow I can do something with Katelyn. Tonight, I'll be listening to HKC Radio as usual. Venison's on now, and later there'll be a live Digital Domain and a Loaded Roundabout, starring our two favorite Australians together under one roof. Should be interesting. Go listen yourself by visiting
