Hi there. Why am I up so early? Well, I wanted to download some stuff off bookshare before school (I'm giving Mercedes Lackey's Obsidian trilogy a try) and had to do it now because my AbleRide is coming between 7 and 7-30. Hopefully it'll be more towards the 7-30 side of that, my class doesn't start till 9-30 and I really don't want to sit around the lobby of the G building any longer than I have to. So anyway, the weekend. It was a good one. On Saaturday I went apple-picking with Katelyn, her parents, her sister Colleen, and Coll's friend Hobart. We went t a really nice (and crowded) orchard upstate and picked apples, pumpkins, and squash. It must've been an organic orchard since you could eat the apples right off the trees. MMMM!!
Delicious!! After our picking was done we hit the nearby country store where I bought some fudge, some scones for Mom, and some gourds. I also had some yummy apple cider and some amazing doughnuts. We then drove home and stopped at Chili's for dinner. Very nice day, an excellent start to fall. On Sunday I went to the first Blind Kid Group meeting of the year. Besides Carmen and I the other people present were Carly, Janna, and our newest members Nick G and Rich C. It was really nice to see both of them, and Carly as well. We had a lovely meeting and I think we're going to have a nice group this year. And yesterday I had Yom Kipur off. It was my first Jewish holiday off in five years, so I made the most of it by not doing much of anything. Fun!! The only bad thing about that is that I have school today since we're going on a Monday schedule. Oh well.
Big sports week this week: the Mets begin their trek towards the World Series by hopefully trouncing the Dodgers and the Islanders kick off the hockey season in Pheonix of all places. I'll be watching.
