The following is a combination of entries from yesterday and today. I never finished the entry I was planning on posting yesterday, but lj was nice and saved it for me so I don't have to rewrite everything. So, here we go.
Friday
Today was lovely, if a bit long. Had school. Western Civ was uneventful, except that we got a test sprung on us for Tuesday. During lunch, while walking around outside trying to get better cell phone reception, I found some picnic tables where I hung out and read in the sun for a while. In Sociology we talked about religions and I got the paper I handed in last week back. Got a 10+ which was the highest mark you could get. WOOT!! My Sociology prof let us out early, so I hung out at the bus stop for a half hour waiting for my AbleRide service window to begin. Once it began I waited some more, and waited, and waited, and, well, you get the point. The stupid bus didn't show up till about 3-50 and by that time the service window had been expired for a while. And once I got on the bus I ended up being the last stop, which meant I had to ride around for at least another hour. GRRR! Once I got home we went out for Mexican in honor of Cinqo de Maio. (my apologies to any Spanish speakers if I didn't spell that right) We ended up at Mango's which was nice but very crowded. They even had some mariachi musicians who were walking around playing traditional music. I had a yummy enchilada, some of my dad's fejitta, some sallad, and a ton of chips. It was quite festive and fun. Then we stopped for ice cream and now I'm here watching the Mets attempting to win. (they ended up winning in fourteen innings, isn't foresight cool lol?)
Found out my results on the math placement. I did really well on the arithmetic part but not so great on the algebra. That means I
'll have to take the higher level of remedial math, which really isn't so bad. I could use a refresher since I haven't taken a math class in nearly two years. Plus there's another upside, you don't get an NCC email address unless you take a math or computer class, and I need one to finally change my school on facebook. Hopefully I'll get one.
Two birthdays today. Happy Birthday to Jesse, whose faith continues to inspire and who is always good for an interesting conversation, even though we haven't talked in a while. And Happy Birthday Glenn! Thanks for being there even when I didn't think I needed you, and for always providing a listening ear and a supportive word!
Saturday
Spent most of today at Nanna's again, watching the Mets game (they won again, woot!) and the Kentucky Derby. Uncle Jackie was down again so he hung out with us most of the day. We had a barbecue for dinner which included the first corn of the season. MMMM! Going to the Island of Rhode tomorrow (we're leaving at five in the morning) for Alliyah's Communion. See you later!
There, now that wasn't so bad was it?
