Hi folks, sorry for the lack in updates over the past few days. It's been somewhat busy around here. So let's get to the recappage shall we?
Katelyn came over on Saturday night as was planned and we had a great time. We got ice cream at Coldstone and then rented In Her Shoes (go get it, it's a great movie) which we watched at my house. The whole evening was recorded in an as yet unpublished podcast, which is all ready to go but just hasn't been uploaded yet. I'm sure you'll enjoy it once it is though. My parents arrived back from Florida on Saturday night, which elicited mixed feelings. It's nice to have them back, but the house was so nice and peaceful ...
Sunday was absolutely gorgeous, so much in fact that I wore sandals. After church and a stop at Nanna's I headed over to Carmen's for what Caitlin L has now dubbed "the blind kid group". That afternoon it was just me, Caitlin L, Carly, Chris K, and Carmen of course. We talked about all kinds of stuff like school, technology, and traveling. We even got to spend some quality time with Carmen's dogs, which was absolutely lovely. Besides her guide dog Ruby, there were three others in the house on Sunday, two guide dog rejects which she and her housemate Debbie had adopted, and a black Lab puppy they were raising for a possible future as a guide dog. It was really fun rolling around on the floor with those pups.
Monday and Tuesday consisted of a shopping trip to Old Navy with Mom, watching the Mets win their opening day game, class, and studying for sociology. Today, or rather yesterday since it's after midnight, was spent doing more studying for Sociology (I have a test tomorrow morning), and working on a resume. There's a job fair at Nassau tomorrow, and I've got quite a few copies to hand out to possible employers. Wish me luck.
My deepest gratitude goes out to whoever was kind enough to purchase me two months worth of a premium membership on here. Don't worry, a phone post is forthcoming.
And since it's still April 5th on the West Coast, a Very Happy and Sweet 16th Birthday to the lovely, talented, and prolific (where lj is concerned) Caitlin H, aka CaliCait!!!!
thanks,
dogs,
recap,
fun with friends
