Green Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!!! It's one of my favorite holidays, especially since my family's one hundred percent Irish, so today I wore nearly all green. I had a green shirt, Irish socks, green necklaces with shamrocks on them, shamrock earrings, and a Claghda ring. (I know I didn't spell that right) School was pretty uneventful, except that I spent most of it wishing I wasn't there and at the parade instead. Once home we had our traditional food: corned beif, cabbage, carrots, red potatoes, and rye bread. Well, most of the food was good, except the cabbage. After dinner was quite fun. Katelyn picked me up around 7-30 and we headed over to prayer meeting. Before we got there, Katelyn had a little St. Paddie's Day gift for me: a vanilla latte from Starbucks with a shot of Bailey's Irish Cream mixed in. MMMM!! You couldn't even tast the alcohol. We did get to CC eventually and it was great to see everyone again. In attendance were Cindy, Jill, Katie K, Lauren B, Erin M, and various others. Katie and Jill did the meeting which included the excellent slide show Jill put together for the Discovery that wasn't. It was really great to get back for a prayer meeting again. You don't really realize how much you miss CC till you return I guess. Maybe it is just like a revolving door as Katie put it. After that Katelyn, me, Cindy, and Jill headed over to The Cup where we got the back room and where the entertainment wasn't its usual crappiness. We had a great time talking and laughing and relaxing together for the first time in a while. We were eventually joined by Marc and James, his boyfriend from college. It was nice to finally meet James, who's a decent guy. I got a frozen hot chocolate and a S'mores square and had a generally good time. Then Katelyn drove Cindy and I home and here I am. Extremely good ending to the day. Maybe I do have that Irish luck.
Two things: I'm a proud licensed non-driver (my ID showed up yesterday), and I just got the new Louis Braille bio from National Braille Press. I plan to do a review of it in my podcast after I'm done reading it. Very good book so far.

st. patrick's day, cc, fun with friends
