So here I am in my dorm at Manhattanville College. I'm all unpacked and organized thanks to a massive effort by my family and I which took almost all afternoon yesterday. Mom did a fabulous job decorating the room, but then, could you expect anything less from Martha Stewart? Last night, had dinner and then went to Voices in the Dark, a series of monologues presented by the OAs (Orientation Advisiors) about such pressing college issues as date rape, alcohol, eating disorders, and other similar stuff. It was actually pretty good. After that I came back here and met some of my neighbors Becca and Alison, two roommates down the hall from Maine and Connecticut respectively. Then back to hear a lecture about residence rules and then we were done. I spent last night talking to many people on Aim (sorry if I didn't answer your IM Francesca, was on the phone with Mom at that point) and watched my new TV. This morning I had a lecture about the History of my college from our President and now I'm free for most of the day. There's an indoor barbecue later so I might go that, especially since we get to decorate wall tiles and I have some Braille label and stuff I want to use on mine. So far everything's pretty good up here. Haven't met many people, but I guess I will once I start joining clubs and classes. I got completely lost going to Benziger (student center/dining hall) this morning, but some nice security guy helped me out and I'm sure I'll get the hang of it eventually. David and Serena move in today and I think Megan's already here (left her a voicemail, hopefully she'll call back) so I'll see them today too. Guess that's it from here.
