Wanted: Audiobook Recs

My commute to and from work is about 25 mins each way and since January I've been listening to audiobooks non-stop. I finished the HP series and then moved on to JK's other novels and the Cormoran Strike series. I had downloaded a couple other ones that sounded promising but I cannot get past the narrator's voice and style. I couldn't listen for ( Read more... )

Oh, heck, you HAVE to listen to Alexis Hall's m/m on audiobook. My favourite of his is For Real (sorry if the UK amazon links don't work for you), which is an amazing and kinky cross-gen story, but Glitterland is also fabulous - I preferred it as an audiobook to the print copy, because the narrator did such a lovely job with Ash, who I found hard to read on paper.

Alexis' books are SO wonderful - I highly recommend him - and I hardly ever listen to audiobooks, but these ones are super. <3

I have Glitterland in my Wish List! I don't know where I heard about it, maybe on here. But now that someone has seconded that recommendation I'm gonna go for it!

I just listened to the samples and the very first thing said in For Real was "I hadn't had time to slip into a collar yet..." and I about fell out of my chair. Of course YOU recced this!! ;)

I like the narrator voice better in Glitterland so I'm going with that. Who knew I had an aural kink?!? I think I really need Draco to narrate an Auror story. ;)

I just started Glitterland and Ash just went home with Essex when I got to work. Gah! I think I'll skip out and listen more on my lunch break. I'm loving it so far! Thanks for the rec!

Oh gosh, Darrian (Essex) is so brilliant. I hope you enjoy the rest of it.

For Real is absolutely my favourite book of his, though. I may have mentioned, once or twice ;)

I just finished! My face is a fright, but it was worth it. I yelled at Ash and I cried for them both. And the narrator was fantastic! You haven't said yet, but is there another Alexis Hall story you like even better? ;) I'll get it next. Will it make me cry, too?
