I'm afraid so.

[Things have become more relaxed in the tent when they return, with people dancing to slow music in the center, and others sitting and chatting in tables around two sides.]

*softly* The man in the corner, the one in the dark blue robes, is Satai.

[Avon nods and smiles at people, as he follows Blake in a not-quite direct route to Satai.]

[Blake stops to chat with a few people, listening to their advice, thanking them for their offers of babysitting. When they get to Satai, Blake smiles and introduces himself.]

[Avon introduces himself and asks how he is enjoying the party.]

(ooc-Hah, one of us will have to play Satai.)

Oh, I'm enjoying myself immensely. Cordai's parties are always the talk of society. [Satai smiles.] I see that the two of you are still well-rested.

[Avon smiles.] Yes, we're taking advantage of it while we can. [Avon gestures at the seats beside Satai.] Do you mind if we sit?

No, no, of course not. Please, sit down.]

[Blake pales.]

[Avon feels like an idiot. He'd forgot about Blake's... problem. He looks at Blake.] Your old war wound is acting up? [Avon glances at Satai.] Travis shot him before the Andromedan invasion. There wasn't time to care for it properly.

Yes, if you don't mind, I'd rather stand. [Blake smiles.]

That's right, you were there during the invasion. Rumor has it you were on the front lines.

[Avon smiles again.] For two hours, Liberator was the front line.

[Satai looks at them both eagerly.] I'd love it hear about it.

[Blake ushers Avon into a chair.] Well, it's a long story. But we'd love to tell you. Perhaps over lunch?

[Satai nods.] Yes, I'd be fascinated. One of the great battles of our time... and I'm certain the official version the Federation released left out a great deal.]

[Avon smiles.] The Federation has a habit of improving upon history.

[Blake snorts.] Yes, and what they can't 'improve,' they destroy. You heard what they tried to do to Lindor. And what they did do to Helotrix.

Yes. [Satai looks troubles.] And worse on Porphia Major and Lubus. *whisper* I've heard they use a drug that... destroys people's resistance. Utterly.

Pylene 50. [Avon nods.] We have a formula for a preventative. We're trying to arrange financing to produce and distribute it.

Unfortunately, it's a lot more difficult than we thought. Even with Cordai's assurances, people are unwilling to offer financial support to outsiders.

[Satai looks thoughtful.] And what would you do with the preventative, once it's in production? Sell it?
