so i'm here in idaho.... can't picture myself being anywhere else
every morning i sit in table rock cafe (school cafeteria)... from the seat i usually get i can overlook the stadium with mountains all around the background... incredible
first week i was here a rush event was floating the river... the Boise River runs along campus... it takes three hours to float from two towns away to the campus... no paddling... the current takes you... it runs all along the mountains... i wanna do that every day
incase you couldnt read the hint, i am rushing a fraternity... something i never thought i'd do, but am glad i did.... all the guys are great.. pledges, brothers, friends... all the events we've done and those that are planned sound incredible...
some dont see the logic in it... as some say "paying for friends"... not the case... put it this way... in a realistic sense you're gonna spend around $40 a month on alcohol in college... so why not have that money go towards that, plus parties, plus free events, plus being involved in school, plus always being around a great group of guys and not to mention sororities... not to mention a free bbq tailgate before each game... badass... mike the milktruck is insane... pics will be posted as soon as the camera is hooked up
the classes are intense, but its a challenge, which i didn't get last year.... my room is huge and have my drum kit finally... i have my Mac laptop finally... i'm surrounded by amazing people in a surreal surrounding... finally feel like i belong in a school
of course i miss everyone back home, but i didn't see anyone last year during the school year... so whats the difference being so far from home... i'm making the most of my experience and i definately made the right choice here...
this taught me something... dont go on preconcieved notions about a place... i thought this place was gonna be great, and it turns out to be so much more... so now all the heckling can stop... people who have lived in boise their whole life have never seen a potato farm... they're nowhere near... just like not everyone in new england has shucked clams... anyone who wants to come out here has free room and board... i want everyone to see this place... its fucking incredible and couldn't be more sure that i made the best choice i've ever made
i'll post more when i have time.... as for now, its off to the pool hall.. which is rite next to the bowling alley... thats rite... my school has a bowling alley.... bitch =)
