weird weird weird
today was the definition of "one of those days". I walked to work in the rain, which is actually quite nice bc it is cool. first thing into work, my manager tells me that our coworker's father was shot. he owns a pawn shop in doraville and a couple guys broke in this morning to rob him and shot him. we all had to cover shifts today and for the rest of the week which is quite alright considering the circumstances.
then my district manager was in today all frazzled about something. turns out the store manager at lenox resigned. i was called into the office and was offered the job. so i accepted it. you are looking at the new store manager of american apparel in lenox. i am sad to leave little five bc i really like everyone, but i feel compelled to do this. its not a real job, but it pays well! i have to get my car situation worked out though. i cant work at lenox without a car.
tonight at close, the backroom where we keep hangers and packaging for our clothes flooded and i spent 20minutes vacuuming water. yes, i vacuumed up water. we dont know where the leak is coming from. then my coworker jess and i went to el myr. i was meeting callie there and jess wanted to get food to go. we are sitting at the table waiting for callie/food when the lights on euclid ave go out. every light on the whole street! we sat in darkness for 10minutes lol. that was my day. the lights did come back on and callie and i had a nice meal.
i started telling callie about my coworkers father getting shot and she said "wait! is he asian?" and i said yes. turns out he was taken to the hospital where callie works. she was in trauma today so she worked with the doctors caring for him. turns out that he was shot in the cheek and the bullet got stuck in his jaw. he is stable but he cant talk. that was the most bizarre coincidence, but nice to know that helens dad is going to be ok.
that was my day. crazy. so much weird stuff happened.
