UT opened the 2nd half with a quick basket, which OSU promptly answered and the see-saw match resumed. OSU lead for most of the 2nd half. 3 calls made by the refs were questionable in my opinion - on the OSU end it was a blocking foul against UT, but on UT’s end it was a charging foul on UT, yet to me they looked the same. But then again, no one thinks fouls are called fairly. -Grin- Then 2 odd calls in UT’s favor (every once in a while fate smiles and the off balanced play-calling goes in your team's favor) gave UT it’s first lead of the 2nd half with about 6 minutes left in the game.
A very tight, and exciting game, all the way. I don’t normally watch the men’s games, they spend too much time show-boating in my opinion but I am glad I sat down to watch this one.
With a final score of 76-73, The University of Tennessee Volunteers advance to Round 4 of the NCAA Tournament (AKA: The Elite 8) for the first time in the history of the NCAA Tournament.
(Now, I just hope they didn’t jinx the Lady Vols.)
