That's my favorite professor, Dr. Andrews, leader of Dr. G and the Mudcats. Last night they played one of their best concerts I've been to (I've been to like 5, now). It was really awesome. I took four pictures during it and also filmed a video of my favorite Dr. G song. I'd like to upload that here, too, but I don't see that being a possibility as it's like 60megs. Maybe I'll check out googlevideo or youtube.
Anyway, I sat with some other professors (Dr. Bynum - Dr. Andrews' wife; Dr. Hart - the professor I TA for; and Dr. Montgomery - new youngish{40?} female professor who just started here this semester and her boyfriend) and my friends Brandie(graduated back in December, temporarily an adjunct instructor in our department) and Kelly. Brandie and Kelly are getting married in about a month and a half in Lousianna. I didn't think Brandie liked me all that much, mostly from the way she and I argued sometimes in Cold War class. However, last night she and I were really friendly and she invited me to her wedding. I'm totally going, too. How often do I get to wear a snazzy suit, eat tons of crawfish and boudan, and dance to zydeco music...all at the same time? Not that often, I tell you what.
I have some cold pizza in my fridge at the office. I'm going to go up there now and eat that and get to grading. After I've graded just 10 of the 84 exams I have left to grade by Monday night, I'm going to head to the public library and see about getting started on the microfilmed newspapers for my thesis research. After I close the library I'll probably go back to the office and see if I can't get another 20 exams graded, leaving me just fifty to do tomorrow and Monday. The best laid plans...
Peace and love,
