Hi again!
It's been way too long since I've updated this...
So perhaps a a few points on what's been happening in my life since December (my last post):
I've been put on the late shift at work. 11:30am-8:00pm- Nice fun people, and I initially didn't mind it because: I can sleep in *every* day, and still earn money. I miss peak-hour traffic (if I drive to work) or I get off-peak fares on the trains if I take public transport.
I'm joining a team to support Cisco TelePresence. It's a wonderful piece of technology, and it's somewhat interesting to dive into how it works. I'm not sure the day-to-day work on it will be particularly stimulating though. We shall see...
Still working at the Photo Lab, although now it's only one shift of 4 hours, every fortnight. The link is becoming a bit tenuous.
We've been planning a holiday down to Melbourne in July this year (going with
mrbean36 ,
jennigan and hopefully
bubblingoddity )
But most importantly... My mum's house has finally been sold!!! I've known about this for almost two weeks, but i've put off telling anyone until it's a certainty. Now that the contractual cooling-off period is over, it's definitely happening. Wow. The settlement date is in late May (20th-27th, can't remember exactly).
The buyers are two ladies of european appearance, probably in their 40's. Good luck to them... We've certainly had enough of that neighbourhood.
Meanwhile, the day after the contract was signed, my mum received a notification from council regarding a DA for the empty block next door... It's this empty block has has rightly browned off a lot of potential buyers, because it exposes the property to teens that hang around there. A case of bad timing: If they had developed the block a year or so ago, not only would the house have sold for more, but also saving us from all the grief with the neighbourhood kids. ...but there's no use moping about it- IT'S SOLD!!!
