Melissa and I watched THE SOCIAL NETWORK via Netflix last night. MAN, what a movie. As a casual user of Facebook (maybe 2x daily), it was interesting to see how the site came together. I know it was not an entirely factual account. I mean, I'm sure the book's author embellished a bit, and then "West Wing" Sorkin wrote a screenplay from THAT, and embellished a bit more. And I'm actually inclined to believe Mark Zuckerberg when he said of the film that it was good entertainment, but in reality there was a lot more coding and a lot less doing-cocaine-off-underage-boobs. (Which is to say none at all.)
SlashFilm has a good round-up of some of the facts from various sources, and provides a good reality check. But I LOVED how the screenplay presented the story -- in the course of the parallel lawsuits. It made for a story so engrossing that I didn't realize I had eaten an ENTIRE BOX of Good & Plenty's by the end of it.
I mean, I LOVE black licorice, but I can't eat more than half a box of those in a sitting. But I did last night, because I was so engrossed in the film. A bit sick to the stomach and had problems sleeping, since we watched this right before bed, but it was so worth it.
