So you want to update your neglected live journal. Are you feeling guilty? Ashamed? Obgligated? A little of all three? Well, let's update together. Easing your way back into talking about your life in a forum where no one listens anyway can be easy and fun! Painless, even - unless you stub your toe on your desk or get eaten by crocodiles while you update.
Lesson One: Figure out where you were and what you had done in your last update, and continue from there.
Uhhhh....
Let's skip to Lesson two. Write a few lines about your current life status. If it helps, use point form. For example: "- Am still alive."
- Had christmas (spent too much money. Many prezzies. Good)
- Had new years (enjoyable. Played cranium. Want for self)
- Em and Nain went home (boohoo)
- Am back at work at Husky (WAHHHHH)
- Considering leaving the country again (as it has been approximately six months since last thought about leaving the country and therefore am due).
Lesson three: Expand your point form into interesting narrative prose.
No.
Lesson four, then: Promise your readers you will be less remiss in updating in the future.
Fat chance.
This concludes "So you want to update your neglected Livejournal". Now you have a fat, interesting entry to post! Doesn't it feel good to get all that nasty real life stuff off your chest? Exactly.
- Note to self: Writing witty creative crap with five lines of actual content in lieu of actual entry is too much trouble. Next time, stick to the five lines of content and be on your way.
