Pandora being silly
First, the LJ homepage is selling a drawing of a soccer ball, but calling it a football. I shouldn't be old enough to be nostalgic for American LJ.
I've been listening to Pandora for a little while. I typed in Sousa. Early in there it played Guillaume Tell, by a French orchestra. Right now, an hour or so later, it's playing Lone Ranger, by the City of Prague Orchestra, off their album of movie western songs.
I like Sousa, but I also like the Marine Band had an album called Not Sousa, subtitled Great Marches Not by John Phillip Sousa. It has a big international no sign over a portrait of him.
For the second summer in a row, I think there's no summer band at College of Marin. I haven't gotten my flute fix in too long. And there was no Alumni Band Day at PacBell Park, so I didn't really get enough piccolo.
