No truly I'm still alive!

Updates.

4. read 20 books on the 100 New England Books list from the Boston Globe (now 5/20)

The Secret Life of Lobsters by Trevor Corson

That was way more about lobsters than I wanted to know. Way more. Especially since I am allergic to them. I did like the scenes of life in a lobstering community, though - that was all very near and dear to my heart as I have family who live in a lobster community. I can still remember sprinting the length of the bait house on the docks on a dare. I think I was nine or ten. The SMELL. Ugh. And then I stepped on a fish head and slipped and almost went face first into a pool of guts. Saved it, though. Anyway! Lobsters. They're gross. But this was a well-written, thoughtful book.

11. read 10 books about museums (now 4/10)

Monuments Men by Robert Edsel

This was nowhere near as good as I hoped it would be. It was a really terrific story told poorly. Hopefully the movie will be better.

38. visit 50 new-to-me museums (now 33/50)

The Wentworth-Coolidge Mansion, the Wentworth-Gardner House, and the Tobias Lear House, and Strawbery Banke, all in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, for work. The Lear House was the best of them, though Strawbery Banke was great in its own way.

39. attend 15 new museum exhibitions (now 9/15)

"Tapping Portsmouth: How the Brewing Industry Shaped the City," an exhibit at Strawbery Banke. Really quite nicely done.

81. sort through DVDs and dispose of some if possible DONE!

Holy crap I accomplished something. I am headed off to donate a pile of DVDs to the library, hip huzzah. The rest of them I have winnowed down to ones that I really do want to own.
