Updates. 38. visit 50 new-to-me museums (now 16/50)
On Friday, I visited
Olana, the home of Frederic Church, and
Clermont, home of the Livingston family. Olana was a beautiful house beautifully situated, with a canned tour and a very factory-like feel to the whole thing. Clermont was utterly charming, not as fancy a house, but with a wonderful tour and unexpectedly good history.
55. go camping five times (now 1/5)
buymeaclue and I camped while we were at the Fitch's Corner Horse Trials. I continue to love my tent madly.
58. visit 10 national parks or national historic sites (now 9/10)
Martin Van Buren National Historic Site, also on Friday. Not brilliant, but solid.
72. switch all household products to organic/environmentally friendly if possible DONE!
The only two non-environmentally friendly cleaning agents/products that are in the house are a bathroom tile cleaner and an oven cleaner, neither of which will be replaced when they're used up. I'm calling this accomplished. I may have some tinkering to do with which products to use going forward - couldn't stand the smell of the 7th Generation kitchen cleaner, for example - but I'm pleased to have done this.
89. make Civil War battlefield tour based on Colonel Richard Gustin's footsteps
We leave on Friday! As soon as I post this, I'm off to to the grocery store for the first round of our groceries.
94. volunteer at 5 recognized events (now 3/5)
I volunteered at
Fitch's Corner on Saturday.
Much more here.
