I just PM'd you links to the Fatih/Tara artwork I made and here you are writing Buffy/Faith, I could have sent you B/F artwork too! This is really charming.
May I make a comment of your writing of Buffy, as a Buffy fan? I appreciate that you're writing her; I love that you remember both her goofiness and her generosity. When she makes a small error and it's pointed out, she's likely to say oops or apologize, and just go forward as she does here. When she finds out Willow is "gay now" in canon she has a moment of awkwardness and then she deals - because she loves her friend and that's more important than anything.
In your story she "grins in embarrassment and orders drinks" and that feels about right.
The thing I want to caution against is overdoing the "dumb Buffy" routine and forgetting that she's the longest lived Slayer - for reasons. Her intelligence and knowledge are under appreciated. Clearly in your 'verse she's less worldly-wise than Faith, but she has strengths of her own - be careful about turning her into a dumb child who has to be "schooled' by the more knowledgeable "parent figure" (Faith).
That parent/child dynamic isn't present in your Faith/Tara or your Satsu/Gazelah stories btw. In those pairings the women compliment one another as equals and adults with different personalities and strengths.
I don't want to discourage you from writing Buffy, on the contrary! You can take my advice and wrap your fish in it, if you like.
Clearly I definitely need to write connecting stories as that was not my intention at all.
Buffy and Faith have shown over the years to have different abilities as Slayers; there have been times when Angel has been feeding near Buffy and she's not seen it for example plus, in this 'verse, Buffy is not an active Slayer anymore; with Faith taking on much of the field operations away fro Slayer HQ which, as shown in the story that originated this 'verse is mobile; moving to where the most dangerous hotspots can be dealt with most efficiently.
She has also taken over Giles' role as (unofficially) chief watcher. In effect she's running the whole show. Part of my background for this, why they are in a gay bar in Tehran, is that Buffy is taking time away from her main role, to accompany Faith; combined busman's holiday and love tryst.
Faith has the on the ground knowledge and Buffy, who can be ever so slightly unobservant, as in missing all the signs of Willow's relationship with Tara, and part of the interaction here is to show how Faith gets a bit of amile still at getting one over on the Senior Slayer.
Buffy in this 'verse has several lovers; not least Faith, Satsu & Angel, but she is very much alone much of the time. Much later in this 'verses timeline she is, and will, find a love that will help her finish baking. I have a picture of who that is now; not too close to writing their introduction, but not too far either.
Thanks for the criticism, I'd rather have comments like that than, while I enjoy them, I love this!
