Yes, I haven't found anywhere yet which explains why they are boycotting Kent. Too close to France, perhaps *g*.

I'm veggie anyway.

It is a bit of a mystery as to why they haven't recovered here although they were never common because they were hunted to the edge of extinction by the middle ages.

You would think the Kent Stour would be ideal for them. I wonder if the local fruit industry is still using banned chemicals.

But we are talking about why there are no otters in Kent while they are back in the rest of the UK. I am pretty familiar with both Essex rivers (which do have otters) and Kent rivers (which don't) and many of the Kent rivers are quieter along the riverbanks, with heavier vegetation and more fish. That last usually indicates high water quality. Hell, some of them are trout streams...

Hmm, perhaps that's why, the locals don't want the otters 'poaching' their fish! It may be a NIMBY problem...
