I'm so quiet on here, I'm a total lurker. Heh. *insert creepy lurking images here*
In short I've been busy as all get out! 40 hours a week at work + 9 hours a week of class + homework/project/quizzes + hella long commutes = TIRED KERIKO!!
On that note of long commutes, Amy and I have started looking in earnest at apartments in Arlington. We found one we liked off I-20 and Collins but we have to wait and see if they're willing to come down on price.
Saturday I FINALLY went to a DFW Lolita meet up! I made Amy go along because I'm shy. ^^; They all were super nice and even though we couldn't stay the entire time, I got the vibe of some real cool people. It was also nice to be in lolita in a group and get to see how others dress. I asked if they ever discussed like hair, make-up or pattern sharing; they said not really but I'm hoping I can get some insider information out of them. =^.^= Really seeing the array of outfits was awesome, it really is nice seeing other lolita in person and seeing each one's personal take on the fashion. Speaking of which I plan to turn my failed (from lack of time) DoT Shall cosplay into a super cute lolita. The jacket is just too cute to waste. ^0^
Fun stuff aside I've been crazy stressed. Work has just been eating away at my soul! Friday I could not win for losing. I was making mistake after mistake after mistake! Mistakes I've never made before and it seemed like as I sorting out one I'd discover another! Of the 16 samples I worked with on Friday, 4 had to be re-amped (2 had drop out *though I think they were just degraded samples* and 2 were switched *a HUGE no no*) and 2 had be completely scrapped and re-extracted (mostly due to lack of a profile from drop out). D: And while this isn't the rest of my life here, it was a mighty blow to the ego to say the least. Hopefully Monday will prove to be better.
ON a better note, I did my taxes on Friday and got a FAT return! For once being unemployed for 3 months and a student came in handy. ^___________^ I plan to use the money to pay on some bills and fix Sven (who needs more power steering fluid and new lower control arm bushings *thanks google*). If I have enough left over I want to get Miyavi a new body. I'm going to put a feeler up on DoA for a trade +money of his AoD body for a 2008 or before WS EID IH body. *crosses fingers* The AoD body just doesn't allow for the posing that I want for my J-Rockin' boy.
Oh and on top of all this I finally finished and turned in my application for my Boren Fellowship for Japan. I wont know until May if I got it. I'm going to Japan either way, but if I get this fellowship I can go for 4 months instead of just 1.
I have started learning some Japanese and got a hiragana work book. So now I can ask where sushi is and recognize the signs when I see it and really that's all I need. ^0^
And I think I'll end this post with a pic of my only progress I've made on my Sage Onion Knight cosplay for Anime Matsuri in April. *shame*
