Americans like voting for stuff that doesn't benefit them. LOL
And when the politicians say to the people protesting: 'But we're doing this for you', that just makes it worse. In fact, that seems to be what makes them angriest of all.
The irony is that, if you point this out to them, they'll deny it, so nothing will probably change. I wonder if this also explains why it's so hard to have a discussion with some Westerners on forums...
Obviously, not all Americans are like that, and I'm sure that a number of Aussies and Brits are...but to my American friends: what do you guys think?
