Facebook tells you a lot about people. I'd say this to people individually, but they mostly wouldn't listen anyway.
To those who supported McCain because they believed in him and thoughtfully made a decision: I know things didn't go your way but I hope you can be gracious and get behind the man who wants to be your president. I hope you listen to him, learn what he really wants for our country, and use your voice to help him keep our country great.
To those who have publicly despaired the election of a black man, or the election of a man whose name doesn't sound like "John Smith," or those who said Obama is the "end of democracy:" Shame on you. Bigotry has no place in America in 2008. If you don't think saying those things makes you a bigot, then you must simply be an idiot. Sometimes I am simply amazed.
Oh well. Other than the dramas of Facebook, all I can say is that I am happy. :) I certainly couldn't say it any better than Obama said tonight. "It's the answer that led those who had been told for so long by so many to be cynical, fearful, and doubtful about what we could achieve, to put their hands on the arc of history and bend it once more toward the hope of a better day."
It's so nice to be inspired by my President.
