Saturday love going on here. French toast for breakfast, good coffee, friends stopping in. My routine is a little off, though, since my DVR decided to dump all of my recordings for the week, so no watching for me. I guess that's another lesson in trying to do better to keep up with things as they're happening. Watch shows when they're actually

Just wanted to say hello. And I hope I don't interrupt a conversation between you and Nik.:-) It's interesting to hear about the Torino award. The BCL was the first archive I found when I discovered fanfiction in 2003. I was hooked immediately and read my way through all stories in the available archives, found my favorite authors and learned soon what "slash" meant.:-)
In 2005 I started writing myself and had to admit that feedback meant the world to me. It's ridiculous but it seems we need the support to feel encouraged to go on writing, that includes nominations for an award.:-)
Now something important: My thoughts are always with KAM and I hope so much that her health will improve soon.
Keri, enjoy the weekend!
Btw, have you written any fanfiction?
Take care..-) Monika

Lol, I read my first slash story, not knowing it was slash. Imagine my confusioon and surprise when in Candy Apple's story "The Best Thing" our guys got together at the end:-) Then I read Charlotte Frost's stories, found out that molo wrote excellent slash stories - and got a hint about Flamingo's novel "Total Eclipse...".
I have always loved writing and haven't regretted trying my hands at writing fanfiction. As you say, it's such a fulfilling hobby and I love it!
I don't expect you to read my SH stories, but I would appreciate it if you signed the guestbook on my website. http://oasis3017.tripod.com/
Do you know KAM personally? How come that some people touch our heart without having met them? I feel that way about KAM and some other lovable people:-)
Talk to you again, lovable:-)

Thanks for pointing the way to your site--you've done a lovely job with it, and I look forward to exploring it/reading soon. I was honored to sign your guestbook.
Some of your favorite writers are my favorites, too.
I hope your writing always feeds your soul....
As for KAM, we live in different states so seeing each other in person--especially factoring in her illness--is not possible right now, but we've known each other since 2001, built a friendship through email at first, and it's grown deeper and deeper over the years. We talk on the phone two or three times a week depending on how she's feeling. That's more than I talk to some of my blood relatives, so it's a personal friendship for us.
Thanks again for your caring. You're a sweetie.

Thank you for your kind words and for signing my guestbook.:-)
Getting to know new friends is one of the most beautiful things in this fandom.

Hope you don't think I was knocking the Torinos or BCL; it was the first SH archive I found, too, and up until a year or so ago, I'd read everything hosted there. And I mean everything!
And I'm as big a fan of feedback as anyone else.
I have witnessed, though, in certain quarters, a distinct effort to "get the vote out" (to borrow a phrase from last year's Presidential election!) and I know quite a few people who won't be participating this year because they've seen the same thing, and I think that's a darn shame, tarnishing the spirit of such events.

*vbg* I learned html the hard way...when previewing a post, a list of accepted html codes is shown just below the message box. So, for example, to italicize, precede the phrase you want in italics with < then i then >, and then close the phrase with < then / then i then >
To bold it, use b instead of i, to underline, use u... and so on.
There's probably an easier way, but that's the only way I know how :-)
