So I said I'd update on Pat's eljay. Ah, where to begin?
Two weeks ago I finally got to ride with the Fire Department's paramedics. I had assumed this would mean an ambulance. I was wrong. The Fire Department has a strange system, so I ended up in a fire truck instead. It was incredible and I'd do it again in a heartbeat if they would let me. Firemen are a lot of fun, and even hornier than college guys(!!!). We had two calls, a general complaint and a pregnant woman who had overdosed.
Speaking of medical stuff, classes for both this summer and next year are proving exceedingly difficult to get in order. I'm waiting to be accepted into Odessa College so I can enroll in the EMT course. It seems ridiculous, since I know they will accept me and all the instructors are trying to help me work around the scheduling problem. As for next year... damn. I'm meeting with multiple advisors this week, but in the end I think I'll be relying on the drop/add period at the beginning of the semester to get the right courses. Other than that classes are going well; I think I'll pull a 3.75 GPA this semester.
This weekend was great, but I really don't feel like going into any detail tonight. I'm just having a great time! Finals are this week, so I have a fridge full of Red Bull. I'll be living largely out of my car for a few days following the dorms closing. That just sounds fun and exotic to me. I'm going on a great backpacking trip to Havasupai Falls (only the most beautiful place in the Southwest) before I get back, and then when I get back I'll be going on a short trip with Amanda Wagner and families.
And I have housing worked out for next semester... finally. I'll have my own apartment! I'm an optimist tonight.
