A whirlwind of stuff

So I finished finals, packed up, went home, etc. That took a while.

When I got back, I saw a special showing of the live-action Death Note movie (which was much better than I had been lead to believe, despite the opening scene) and the new movie of my namesake, Indiana Jones (which, as Nick so aptly put it, was like "Indiana Jones as directed by Robbie", so lots of fun, but full of CRACK), went to Scarborough Faire (the Corsairs' last fair ever! It's tragic!), then spent every other waking moment making weapons and shopping for stuff with which to make weapons. This was in preparation for A-Kon in Dallas, at which Monk and I had an artists' table.

After the debacle that was OniCon we were terrified that we wouldn't sell a thing and we'd be poor and hungry and couldn't pay for the hotel room.
We sold out on the first day.
Every plushie, every boffer except one short sword (even the new designs that were still technically at the Franken stage), and a bunch of lawyer badges. We even got commissions, and I made two Kingdom Keys and the Riddler's cane from Batman in an attempt to keep up with the demand. If we have more stock for the next con, now that we've figured out the optimal pricing, we can make infinite money.
Since we had no more stock, we spent the next two days dicking around the rest of the con and having fun. Pictures should be forthcoming soon. And I know I always say that, but I mean it this time, 'cause now we have a website for our company, Year of the Rabbit. It's small now, since we've been frantically making things, but now it'll get worked on for the post-con business. And since I know all you people on my flist, if you want any of my weapons, just drop me a line and I'll sell them to you at half price.

Also, today, this last day of the con, is my birthday. I'm 21, which means Mags and I plan on going down to 6th Street (that's the clubbing district for you non-Austinites) and bar-hopping, so I can buy a soda at each place. Just because I can drink doesn't mean I'm gonna.

cons, life, year of the rabbit
