Vive la revolution! plus a bunch of other stuff

First, the most important of the zillion things I haven't written about in a week and a half: 7th Sea. Andy, Alexis and I set up a lovely little court do for the King of Montaigne France) at Sarah C's character's house and let the other characters go about their business and personal plots for a couple of hours. Then I burst in (or tried to, stupid players in the foyer) with a horde of pitchfork-wielding peasants (pitchforks courtesy of Caitlin, peasants courtesy of BSFFA) and proceeded to have the French Revolution in the middle of their party. Also, I accidentally killed Abe by rolling seven tens (7x10=OMGdamage) in a row. That's okay, though, as we had intended to have him die anyway. Also, Sarah C did what no French noble to my knowledge ever did when faced with peasants screaming for his blood: "You're starving and poor, you say? Let's see what we've got in my pantry, then..."
In conclusion: awesome. Also, 7th Sea will be the official LARP next year; huzzah!

I might as well get all the rest of the gaming stuff out of the way and talk about Mortals LARP (which was alright, but I didn't really do anything during it), Vampire LARP (in which my character went to hell because of semantics. I wouldn't be annoyed about it if the reason had been something like "You stood by for 2,500 years while your brother committed mass murder and didn't do anything but ask him politely to stop". But no, it's because I answered a question wrong. Please forgive my bitterness.) and Arcadia (It's over! NoooOOOoooOOooo!)

I think that's it for gaming. In other news, I don't remember if I've said that I'm done with the Chapin site now and am working on the Columbian Exposition and anthropology's place in it. I get to hang out in archives and play with manuscripts (admittedly not the kind of manuscripts I'm used to from my medieval stuff, but I'll take what I can get).

We've gotten into finals time, which means all my free time is either spent doing papers, presentations or feeling guilty for taking five minutes off to read stuff because that time should really be spent writing papers. Actually, that's not true. I take an hour off and watch Buffy, because I apparently hate myself. On the other hand, Giles. I think that about sums it up.

7th sea, gaming, life, work
