That would depend in part on whether his father is still alive or not.

No matter what had happened, Elliot would have had to learn to live with his guilt - I think it got translated as his sin - and that would not be a pleasant experience. As so much of Elliot's self-identification is tied up in being a good and noble person, the fact that his life killed two families - his own and Leo's - would have been a very hard burden to bear. He would have, because he's Elliot Nightray and dammit he shoulders his own burdens, but it would have been a very hard thing for him to.

He'd first have to reassess what it means to be Elliot Nightray; is he really the knight errant he paints himself in his subconscious representation of himself, or is he instead something far more sordid and broken? An Elliot that survived is an Elliot whose principles didn't kill him, so he would probably fall somewhere between those two poles, though I assume that it would be closer to the knight errant thing if only because it's Elliot
