Update!

I've been posting my stories at my website, but I have been forgetting to post links here. I'm not sure if anyone is interested in reading my work, but I'll remember to post the links to my site here just in case. This is a continuation of the story of Aladdin (the one from A THousand and One Nights) called The Echo of Eons: http://www.keppiehed.com/includes/story/library.php?sid=231l11698. I wrote it for Zimbell House Publishing, which has some really great opportunities for writers, if any of you are interested: contests/submissions here!

I know I've been really absent lately; the start of the school year seems like it has been rocky this time! I'm buried under conflicting kids schedules/illnesses/etc. In happy news, I was asked to join the staff of Bedlam Publishing in a newly created position as submissions editor! So I am really thrilled about that. We're just beginning the process of looking through submissions for the third issue of Loud Zoo, their online literary magazine, so I have my hands full with that job. It's been a daunting but educational experience. I hope I'm doing a good job. Eeek!

I'm also keeping my chin up about writing. It comes and goes as far as rejections and acceptances are concerned (as you guys know!) so it's important to keep going with it. I've only had eleven acceptances this year, which feels a bit like a loss somehow, but the year isn't over yet.

In unrelated news, I just got back from a great trip to Stratford, Ontario. For those of you who don't know Stratford, it is known for its outstanding repertory theater, most notably their excellent Shakespeare productions. I was invited to take a trip with my sister and her friend, a world famous Shakespeare webcomic artist. We had a wonderful time! Stratford had a fantastic season this year, and I was able to see two shows: an avante garde production of A Midsummer Night's Dream and Gershwin's Crazy For You. I can't praise them enough; they were just phenomenal. To say I rarely get out is an understatement, but these made up for the lack. I feel fortified enough to dance through winter now. Here I am basking like a queen in hotel room and another pic of me with a random gnome on a street in Stratford:

I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the fall season, especially if you live somewhere with beautiful foliage. Take care of yourselves! <3
