oi!
It feels like forever since I last sat down to write an entry. Summer made me forget how insane school can be; but inconsistently. Last week, between Tuesday morning and Friday night, I literally had no down time. I'm a 8 hrs of sleep per night kind of gal, and I averaged around 5, which meant by friday, I was ready to conk out. It's calmed down now, startling again since I almost feel as though I have nothing to do. But I have the feeling that next week and for the two weeks following, it will ramp up to insanity again.
I'm re-reading Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows now, having finished Chamber of Secrets yesterday... hahaha I'm hoping that the jumping around will accent Harry's growth, and it sort of has. Book 2, I believed that he was a 12 year old. Book 7, he mentions sixteen years of life and I caught myself slackjawed. It's renewed my sense of... awe? With the series somewhat. I didn't say this at the time, but HP:DH initially had me disappointed. We'll see how the second reading goes; so far, so good. I'm really looking forward to it.
Today was the first time in ages that I've sat around and just read fic. Didn't do anything else; no MSN, or TV, or music, or other website. Juuuust fic. One thing I lamented about last year was that I didn't seem able to balance my life. There was time for school and family/friends. Then I added some time in for working, since I was broke. But fandom got almost entirely shafted; I didn't read fic, I didn't write fic. I didn't participate in discussions or read any meta. And while I enjoyed school, my whole reason for going was initiated by my involvement in fandom. I wanted to be a part of the creation of something that ellicited that amount of dedication, inspiration and community. That was all lost last year in the storm of learning. I hope to keep a balance this year, ensuring some time for fandom amongst the other important things.
I can't bloody believe Supernatural is starting up again in 2 flipping days. WUTWUT! I'm so excited! The boys on the road again & getting into various and sundry adventures in which there's sexy demon killing and brotherly lovey moments hidden amongst sarcasm and angst? SQUEE! sign me up!
On that note, I haven't sorted out my TV schedule yet; between that tour & school I'd forgotten it was premiere season *facepalm* and so I have to get my butt in gear on that. I've already missed 3 eps of Bones X.X! And I'll have to get into a routine for downloading wednesday night shows since I work those nights now (poo).
