Afro-Cuban music is the devil. All right, it isn't evil, nor satan, but I'm havin' some difficulties playin' this shit. Maybe it's because I've been slacking off in my practicing? I think that's highly probable. I've been practicing, but I've been doing more classical stuff in my practice. Don't get me wrong, I love playing classical, but it just isn't my thing. Despite how much I feel it can help my playing, I think it is hurting me in the long run in the jazz soloing department. Dizzy? Why'd you have to go and put hard ass changes in Algo Bueno? I should go back to basics and play some blues. Maybe transcribe some blues solos. That would probably be for the best. My memory of licks is lacking, so that would definitely help.
