It is with deep regret to inform you that Target has clearanced off earlier this month its last model CRT television, a 20in ATSC/NTSC model that was surprisingly good for $120. I can't confirm it but its likely that Target will from now on sell only LCD and Plasma televisions. And for good reason too, as the margin on them is huge, compared to the razor thin margin CRT models were running at the last few years. Also the fact that the CRT models are limited in size and become more complex as they are stretched into 16:9 widescreen and become considerably heavier as they get bigger. A 32in screen CRT weighs around 100lbs if not more and a 32in LCD model weighs no more than 25lbs.
Once I move I plan on buying a new TV, I'd like to get something around the 36in range that also gets 1080p, buying any TV that doesn't get 1080p is a huge waste as broadcasters are going to impliment 1080p in large scale within 5 or 6 years. Not to mention, I'm also looking to get an Xbox360 and if I can ever get my hands on one, a PS3 with PS2 backwards compatibility.
