May is usually part of the dry period with very little weather other than lots of sunshine, but to see the weather map of Arizona and to see low and high pressures in their respective places for the monsoon and large clouds scattered around this early is quite the amazement. The situation is going to be short lived as the low is part of a disturbance moving through the area and pushing the high with it.
Its likely though that much of the precipitation is failing to hit the ground (virga) as the air in Arizona is fairly dry. (10% humidity in Phoenix today.)
