Calypso Island - Week 03 : Carr

Jun 01, 2014 23:11

Welcome back to Calypso Island! Last time, Rosie voiced her wish to start a church on the island and promptly got pregnant. Thanks risky whoohoo -_- So she reluctantly postponed those plans. By the end of the week, she gave birth to another girl, Rory. And that's all you need to know to be up to date :)

Remi yawned and stared blankly across the table, slowly eating his bowl of cereal. Rosie was feeding Rory and Rue sat on the floor playing with Mr Wobbly. Some people would call it boring, but Rosie liked it.

Her morning routine was simple; get up, make breakfast for Remi and Rue, feed a bottle to Rory, do Yoga, take a shower. Rosie liked routine, and predictability. Both those things meant you knew who you were and what you had to do. Rosie really did want to start a church someday, but right now she had other priorities. Like caring for her two little girls.

Remi had the night-shift.

"Please, please please just go to sleep."

"No!"

During those sleepless nights, Remi taught Rue a nursery rhyme.

On wednesday, when Rosie and Rue sat down for lunch, the phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Hi Summer, Remi's not home right now, try... are you crying? What's wrong?"

"He'll be home in an hour or so."

"Okay, see you then."

Knowing it could only be Summer, Rosie made Remi open the door.

"Hey Summer, Rosie said... What the...?"

"There's something wrong with me Remi!"

"What's wrong? Are you sick? Come in!"

"I'm repulsive, aren't I?"

"Don't say that! You're not repulsive."

"It's true! First you, now Kevin."

"What did he do?"

"Nothing! He does nothing! It's like he doesn't even notice me!"

Remi invited Summer to stay for dinner, but she didn't want to stay. Remi made her promise to call if she needed anything.

That evening, Rory had her first birthday.

Strangely enough, Rosie found it a lot easier to care for two toddlers that for a toddler an a child. Probably because they kept each other entertained. Which meant Rosie had time to read the paper, for the first time in days.

Remi came home with a surprise, he impressed his boss with something that was sheer luck and gained a promotion.

And Remi had another surprise for Rosie.

He asked Summer to watch the kids,

And asked Rosie out on a date.

"A date? Are you kidding?"

"What? We never dated. I thought it would be nice. But if you'd rather stay home and change diapers."

Rosie laughed.

He took Rosie to the only restaurant on the island, T&T burgers.

"Okay, I take it back, it was really nice of you to ask me out on a date Remi."

"Told you so."

"I'm lucky to have you."

"Oh shut up, you're making me blush."

"It's true, I'm so lucky you picked me."

"I'm pretty sure I'm the lucky one."

The next evening, Rue aged up.

Rue seemed to take after her mother, a serious child who loves to be active. But like Remi she's just not very nice. Fortunately, she's really nice to her little sister.

Remi watched her as she walked to the bus for the first time.

"Be good! Have fun, Rue!"

Rue nodded, a nervous feeling in her stomach.

"You need to tell me all about it tonight okay?"

She nodded again.

With Remi at work and Rue at school, Rosie devotes all her time to teaching Rory to walk.

Rue came home from her first day. Her marks weren't great, but her first day had been fun. Tomorrow wouldn't be as scary.

Rosie helped Rue with her homework.

And when Remi came home, Rue rushed out to tell him all about her first day at school.

"You know Rosie, you really are perfect. Pretty, sweet, a great cook, a great mother. Is there anything you can't do?"

"Well yeah, now that you mention it. Could you fix the shower? I tried it today, but it almost blew up in my face!"

"Sure sweetie, I'll get right to it."

"I'm gonna head out for a little bit, we're running low on groceries. Do you want anything special?"

"Nah, I'm gonna head for bed."

"Save me a spot."

Rosie giggled.

"You're such a dork, Remi Fueller."

"But you love me."

"I do. Hurry back."

Despite the late hour, it was still quite busy in the store. Remi successfully dodged Kevin's sales attempts ("Shove off, Morgan.") and went about his shopping.

But when he went to pay, there was no one at the register.

"Uhm, hello? I'd like to pay?"

After half an hour of waiting, Remi angrily tossed the bags on the floor and stormed out. He returned shortly after though. Farm Fresh was the only shop in the island and they really did need groceries.

Back home, Rosie was getting ready for bed when the doorbell rang.

"Jake, what a nice surprise!"

"Rosie! It's been way too long. How are you?"

"I'm fine! Come on in."

"I brought Summer too, I hope you don't mind."

"You did what now?"

Jake told Rosie about his dates with Fergus.

"I'm so happy you found someone, Jake."

"Oh, I'm not sure Fergus is long-term."

"What do you mean?"

"I have fun with Fergus, but I'm not swept off my feet or something."

"You like him, though?"

"Sure, but it's more of a... physical thing. If you know what I mean."

Rosie blushed.

"Rosie, I'm home. You... have company, apparently.

Hi Jake, Summer."

So Remi sat down and joined them.

"Your husband needs to hire some better employees, Summer. I had to stand in line for ages, it was madness."

"I'll tell him you said so."

Remi and Jake discussed a case they had both worked on.

"I still can't believe that guy would have rather gone to jail than admitted to his wife he cheated on her."

Remi laughed.

"I can. She looked really scary!"

"So it's okay to cheat on your wife, if your wife looks scary?"

"I didn't say that, Summer."

"You shouldn't joke about those things."

"Geez Summer, I'm sorry okay? It was a joke."

"It's not funny! There's nothing funny about cheating on your wife!"

And after that, she stormed off.

"Jake? What was that all about?"

"I don't know, man. She's been like that all week."

"I didn't think she would still be mad at me. I mean, doesn't she have Kevin now?"

"I don't think she's mad at you, it's something else."

"Keep an eye on her, will you?"

"Sure."

"You know, Rosie, I've been thinking. Money's been kinda tight with the two girls and all. And saving isn't going as well as I would like. At this rate we'll never get the money together for your project."

"Remi, I told you. Once the girls are both in school, I'll go and do something about that."

"I know, but I've been thinking. I know this guy and he has this counterfeit machine. Free money, Rosie."

"And what do you think The Watcher would think of a church founded with stolen money?"

"It's not exactly stolen."

"No Remi!"

After that, family life proceeded as usual. Using the thinking cap, Remi taught Rory to talk.

Sunday evening, Rory grew up.

And lighting struck in the backyard.

"Fire!"

"Oh Watcher, I'm sorry I stole Remi from Summer! I'm sorry he brought up that counterfeit machine! Please don't hit me with lightning!"

"Huh? Dad? What's wrong with mommy?"

"Come here you, you're scaring Rue."

"Promise me you won't use that counterfeit machine!"

"I promise, you silly girl. We'll find another way."

----------------------

Guess who messed up picture sizes... -_- Sorry about that! I should really check my settings. And poor Remi, somehow there was nobody assigned to the register. I think Remi took it as a personal insult from Kevin, hahaha.

Thank for reading! :3
