All good things...

Back to uni tomorrow, sigh.

Not as excited about this semester as last semester, or the semester before that, really. Doing four subjects again: two Writing subjects and two Japanese subjects. This semester I have to study Scriptwriting which will be interesting and new. With both Poetics and Narrative I at least had some idea what I was doing, but Scriptwriting is brand new to me.
My other writing subject is an intro-level Literature subject so lots of reading for me, methinks.
My two jap subjects are just jap subjects; nothing exciting.

Oh, I got very good marks last semester, btw, which I am quite the happiness with. They were:

- Distinctions in both my jap subjects
- Distinctions in my core Writing subject (all grammar and english stuff)
- AND a High Distinction in Narritive, which basically meant a High Distinction for my story, Between Blinking :D!

so good times.

Hope everyone is going well and enjoying their lj haiatusus as you all devour your Harry Potter books. I will have to start the series again...

Oh, oh, and I saw Transformers.... awesomest boy-trash ever. It was transformers doing what transformers do best: firing shitloads of lasers and missiles and missing each other but blowing up lots of shit. Shit acting, awesome special effects, shallower than a fingernail but a hell of a lot of fun :)

More new. I submitted three poems (City Loves You, The Raindrops..., and Grey Ink) in to the Arts Queensland Val Vallis Award for unpublished poetry last week... Is announced in September. First prize is $3000 :).
This week I will also be submitting my 55-page manuscript into the Arts QUeensland Thomas Shapcott Award for an unpublished poetry manuscript. It's also worth $3000 and a publishing contract.

Me and Helen had our one-year last wednesday :)
My dad turned 44 on Thursday.... which makes him as close to exactly double my age as he will ever be... I don't think that happens often therefore it is significant.

I am enjoying this amazing academic-y book analysing Radiohead's OK Computer song by song as well as the new Bloc Party album in equal measures.

I want to be a lyricist.

I think that's everything.
Hope all are well :)
