Everytime we get to the end of a lease, we ponder whether to stay or move. We're not ready for 'the big move,' and with Kris' new job its a harder decision to make anyway. I saw a house for rent in Mattydale that looked really nice, its two blocks from an elementary school, and a little cheaper than where we are. We would have to mow our own lawn, and who knows how the landlord is on fixing things. We have a pretty great thing with our landlord, even though its a little steep. Then I asked 'where would we bank? And where would we shop for food? Wegmans would be too far.' At that point, Kris put the stop on it, b/c he's not willing to give up Wegmans. Quite frankly, neither am I.
Mattydale is in the North Syracuse school district, which is really good for special needs, which is a plus. But its a slighly longer drive to work (by like less than 5 minutes, but still, I like my 5 minute drive to work now!). Kris still wants to look at it, but I don't think I want to waste anyone's time, including our own. Plus, its a lot of running around to bring the kids somewhere for something that will go nowhere.
Moving would also mean moving our security system, and of course, moving furniture. I like this house, for the most part. I guess we should stay here a little longer, especially until we figure out our long term plans. If I find that we will stay in this area another year, I may want to just buy a house in the fall.
