I'd have to agree with Hikaru-kun on this one, dear. You'd make an *atrocious* doctor, since you don't have a single science-minded cell in your brain~♥ With as much as I've helped you with such subjects over the years, I think that's obvious by now~ Though I say that with the utmost affection~♥ So don't get upset with me again.
But perhaps you should consider talking to your mother about it instead and see if she will take your side on things. Because if she does, your father will be far more likely to listen to her on the matter than he will with you. ...Though if that doesn't work, try double teaming him with Jun-kun and see if that will make him listen to reason. As he might give in if you're both trying to talk to him. Because, really, between him and your darling cousin, I think your family has got their bases covered for keeping the family business going. They don't need to force you to do it as well.

For this time only, I won't get angry at you and must agree that yeah, I'm just not a science person. And that is my point for arguing with the old man. He should look at the reality and not only at our family history.

The first time I told him about this, my mother was right beside him but she didn't say anything. Though later she told me she'll try to talk to my father. But obviously it didn't went as planned because I've been yelling at my phone too often this month.

And you know? I think maybe that's the reason why he's so set to make me a doctor. He always compared me to Yuushi since we were in kindergarten and maybe he's ashamed that his son is not as good as his brother's.

Hmm... Looks like you've got yourself a difficult predicament then, sweetie. I'd say stand your ground, much like Kintarou-san is trying to do, and then maybe he'll come to understand that you want your own future, not the same one your father made for himself. However, if you are wanting to help convince him of things, it might be best to tell him exactly what it is that you *do* want to do, if not following in his footsteps. Otherwise you've got an even more difficult argument to win, because you've got nothing to show him for why you shouldn't take up the family business. I know, it will probably still be a troublesome fight to win, but give him some proof of something.

You're not your cousin, though, Kenya-kun. The two of you are completely different people with completely different interests. Well, save for the tennis. And while he might be good at something, that won't always be the case for you, and vice versa. ...Like for instance, he's really good at science, so of course he'd make a better doctor~ But I imagine he wouldn't be able to deliver the daily news as well as you do~♥ ...Even with that lovely, lovely voice of his~♥ Or if he started stripping while he was telling us about rising temperatures that were causing a heat wave across the country~♥ ...So don't let what he does affect how you perceive yourself~

What Yuushi did never really bothered me more than what my father said about him. Sometimes it's hard to have a cousin who likes the same thing as you... Should I getting annoyed that you think Yuushi's voice is lovely and mine isn't?

I'm trying to talk to him again this weekend. Hopefully with us talk directly and not over phone, he'll understand better. And hopefully I can tell him 'nicely' what I want to do. Both of us aren't a patient man after all.
