Yay. So mom REALLY wants to buy my car for $5,500. The bluebook on it is like $6,480. She wants me to take the LCD TV out and make all that stock again.

Cost of OEM parts + installation = $150
Selling the GReddy Exhaust/DC Sports Header = $300-400

Ok so that's +$150-250 + the $1,000 I had saved to move out with + $1,000 I'll make between now and when mom takes ownership = ~$2,250 + $5,500 for the car = $7,750.

Yay. $7,750.

I've narrowed it down to the Acura RSX Type-S or to the Honda Accord V6

Acura RSX Type-S
Pros: 200hp 2.0L DOHC i-VTEC engine, 6 speed short throw manual transmission, light weight chassis, reponds well to boltons + ECU reflash, inexpensive car (02/03 models used with under 50,000 miles are ~$15,000), vast aftermarket support
Cons: Horrible blind spot in cabin, must use premium gasoline (91+ octane), lacks overall torque which results in high revs necessary to generate power (redline is 8,000)

Honda Accord V6
Pros: 240hp VTEC engine (250hp using 91+ octane) with tons of torque to spare, 6 speed manual transmission, electronic traction control, beautiful interior, navagation option, a true luxury coupe, option to use regular unleaded fuel (87 octane), inexpensive used models (03/04 models with under 50,000 miles are ~20,000)
Cons: SOHC engine design, weight, aftermarket support not wide

I don't think I mentioned how I was going to pay for this. A loan. Kenton is working 40 hours a week this summer, plus alternative computer work. I can handle a $10,000 loan spaced over 3 years.

Anyways. It's decided, I'm getting a new car this summer. More than likely the RSX-S because I want a fast car. The RSX-S is somewhere in the high 14's/low 15s in the 1/4m and the Accord is somewhere in the high 15s/low 16s. With minimal work the RSX could be a 12-13 second car.

I stop now :)
