if a man -needs- to divorce his wife, or vice versa, he should.
responsibility doesn't necessary reside upon the divorcer.
perhaps we should put more emphasis on not getting girls pregnant and then marrying them. maybe we should make more emphasis in the christian community on truly finding the right person, not waiting for sex till you're 21 and getting married since you can't wait any longer.
i'll tell you, going to pba for 3 years really trivializes the importance of the decision. even in our facebook community, look at all the people, including me, who are engaged. we make the decision like 'till death do us part' is about as long as we have been alive thus far--if that; instead, 21 year old kids feel they know who they are going to spend the next 75% of their life with...
emphasis need not be on the decision to divorce. this is a dynamic thing. people change. their values change. and sometimes divorce is a nice alternative to severe physical or emotional abuse. emphasis needs to be placed on the individual decisions and responsibilities for each 20 year old kid to wake up for the next 20 years, and the following 20 years, and the final 20 years, loving the same person, when loving is the hard thing to do.
