Ah heh... ._.; This dates back to when I was trying to get my brand-new Wii online, and I was talking to memento_macabre in an attempt to figure out what I was doing wrong. Like a TRUE FRIEND she shared her mirth with kopiispace, who made that little piece of artwork. Unfortunately, I actually found it funny, and turned it into an icon. I just have tons of forgiveness in me, or something... *stares daggers at the offenders*
...God, I wanna be succinct as possible here, but I doubt my nerdiness will let me. XD; This is Fujiwara no Mokou, a character from the 8th game in the Touhou shooting game series, Imperishable Night. A fictional member of the historical Fujiwara clan, she's the bitter enemy of Princess Kaguya, whom she blamed for ruining her father's reputation. She was able to obtain the elixir of immortality, and thus - like Kaguya - has eternal youth and cannot die, quickly recovering from any wounds, even to the extent of coming back to life from fatal injuries. Through unexplained means, Mokou controls the fire of the phoenix. The fandom has a lot of fun with her, and she's one of my favorites. XD; (In the original pic I took this icon from, she's facing off against a vampire child who has the power to destroy anything. Fun stuff lol)
I can blame this one on Pu, as well! We were geeking over Bruce Timm's artwork one night, and tracking down whatever we could find online. One image we stumbled on was Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy enjoying a trip to the beach... having fun with the buried-in-sand and possibly dead Batman. XD; She showed the image to phoenixstorm, she made icons, I swiped one. =3
Behold the Zuka Club! They were featured first in episode 9 of Ouran High School Host Club, when they try to recruit the main character, Haruhi, for their club (and transfer to their school). The lesbian subtext for the Zuka Club and everyone who worships them at their school has to be seen to be believed.
The short one is Fone Bone. The girl in the center of the heart is Thorn. They're the main characters of Jeff Smith's Bone, my favorite comic book... EVER. It saddens me a little you didn't recognize them, Jessi. But that's okay... now I know what to get you for Christmas. =3
