One of the most peaceful times of my week is when I'm getting attacked.
Somehow, it's even more relaxing if it's three or four people. I just move. No techniques, because the time it would take to do one would get me swarmed under. Just moving, moving, moving. Touching here and there to disrupt. An occasional human shield if I'm playful. If the people are skillful, even better. Gently open hands become small, hard fists. Little staccato explosions as feet forcefully hit the ground. My body is gone by the time the explosions happen.
My 16 bit connection to reality becomes a 64 bit connection. I marvel at all the information I'm taking in.
So peaceful because I don't have to think. Or analyze. Or have all the answers.
I just have to move.
Ironically, this phenomenon is why I played (and still occasionally play) the Resident Evil games so much. I love RE 4 in the mercenary mode, where you're constantly getting swarmed and you have to efficiently take things down while constantly moving and re-arming.
All my thoughts narrow down to one single point, and I find myself smiling...
