Well, with tomorrow being the first day of October, I felt like now would be a good time to update everyone on the progress of my Ghostbusters costume I've been working on for Halloween. In case anyone actually cares.
The uniform is almost entirely complete. I've got my gloves, boots, and elbow pads all ready to go. My flightsuit just needs the logo patch and name tag, which I have and will be ironing on sometime in the next few days. And I've got my belt dyed, I just need all the little hooks and gizmos that go on it.
My ecto goggles are also nearly complete. I just need to add a few knobs and maybe a sticker or two, and they'll be fine. I'm using welding goggles as the base, so it's not entirely movie accurate, but it'll do for a costume.
And of course the big project is the proton pack itself, which is coming along nicely, but is probably only about half-way completed. I have all the materials I'll be using, and most of them are already cut and painted, I just need to put it all together. I've also got some cheap battery operated lights that should help sell the effect. Again, nothing movie accurate, but for a homemade Halloween costume it should be pretty neat.
Assuming I get all of this done on time, there's still the possibility that I might try to whip up a PKE meter and a ghost trap. Time permitting, of course. But obviously, the pack and uniform are most important, so I'm concentrating on those until I'm happy with them.
