The greatest movie of all time.

Robocop is the greatest movie ever made.  It is a perfect film, and couldn't possibly be improved in any way.  Disagree, and I will tell you how wrong you are.  Discuss.

Search your feelings, you know it be true! >:)

And did Malcolm Reynolds ever hang out with Frodo Baggins? I don't think so!

Serenity is full of plot holes and Deus Ex Machina style writing.

Robocop has no visible flaws.

Robocop superior, all others inferior. :P

Serenity if far from perfection. Mal beats the operative at the end because he just happened to have an old war injury that took out the one cluster of nerves that the operative uses his super secret ninja move on. And somehow the operative didn't know about this injury despite the fact that he's been following them this whole time and supposedly knows everything about Mal's war record. That's bad writing.

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with "Robocup", is that anything like the far superior Robocop? :P

It's bad writing. Mal won by exploiting an injury that literally didn't exist until that very moment. If Joss had based the scene on an injury that we actually saw Mal receive during the series, I might be able to let it slide, but it's something Joss made up at the last second as an excuse to let Mal win. He might as well have had a chunk of the ceiling fall on the operative's head at that exact moment. And Mal supposedly received this injury during the war, so I assume it would have been in the records somewhere. Either way, if the operative was as thorough as he was supposed to be, he should have known about it before the fight.

Hey, I don't blame Robocop for any of the shitty franchise things they attached his name to, it doesn't change the fact that the first movie is still super badass. :)

So the Browncoats didn't keep any sort of records on the military history of their officers? That seems unlikely. And besides, my main issue with it wasn't that the operative should have known about the injury beforehand, it's that the injury itself was just lazy writing to give Mal a way to win the fight. It's like if I wrote a story about Luke Skywalker fighting an imperial assassin who uses a nerve gas as a weapon, and Luke wins because he just happens to have a rare immunity to that form of nerve gas.

It spawned TWO terrible cartoon shows, a terrible live action show, an okay miniseries, several terrible comic books and video games, and two terrible theatrical sequels, but I don't hold that against him. :) That's like blaming The Terminator or Predator for all the shit that has come out with their names on it.

We probably did. I know if I were running the government I'd want to keep detailed files on all of our enemies in case they decide to start some trouble again.

There were better ways to have Mal win. Most heroes just find a way to outsmart the villain, or overpower them, but to have him win just because of some random bit of luck was just cheap. It was like something out of Signs.

The first animated series was released in 1988, but then in the late 90's there was another short lived cartoon starring Michael Dorn as Robocop. There was also a short lived live action show in '94. Needless to say, none of these shows did very well. :P

It was a good movie, it just wasn't perfect. Most movies aren't.

Well, apparently I must have been mistaken. I could have sworn he was in it, but I can't find him listed on Wikipedia or IMDB.
