Highly Valued. Esca is brought back to Marcus for a portrait of another sort.
Notes: Inspired by the erotic painting.
When Marcus had hoped Calvus would return with Esca, this had not been what he had in mind. Marcus' surprise had been nothing compared to the shock on Esca's face when Calvus explained he would like a naked portrait of his favorite slave. Even Marcus' uncle looked dubious at the request, but he did not hesitate to agree to the request.
Esca sat on the dark red chaise, still dressed in the cream colored robe Marcus had given him to change into. Esca sat stiff, his back straight and his hands gripped tightly on his robe. Not exactly the temptress Calvus requested.
"Skin is nothing to be ashamed of," Marcus spoke.
Esca's glare matched the ones he had sent Marcus all those weeks ago, and it made Marcus smile. "I am not ashamed."
"The quicker you pose, the quicker I can be done." There was no way out of it, and Esca had to know that.
Esca stood, but hesitated.
Marcus sighed and stood. Esca watched him as he pulled his own tunic over his head, tossing it to the floor near a pile of green tiles. "Not too difficult, is it? No reason to be afraid." he said. The studio was thankfully warm, and it actually felt nice.
Esca scowled. "I am not afraid." As if taking Marcus' own disrobing as a challenge he threw the robe off and stood proud, naked as the day he was born. He was thin with long muscles barely distinguishable under the pale skin. It was a lovely shade, though Marcus was sure it would be difficult to duplicate in paint. There was a strange blue tattoo on one of his arms, clearly from before he was a slave. A nice trail of hair traveled down his navel to privates. It was curious to see that though he was foreign, he matched any Roman's.
Marcus nodded and gestured to the chaise.
Esca plopped down hard, causing the chaise to jerk on the floor with a sharp squeak. He once again looked uncomfortable, but it seemed to be because he did not know what to do with his body than the fact he was naked.
Marcus collected the robe and placed it next to his own. He approached Esca, who tensed as he drew closer, his muscles becoming more defined and sharp. Marcus decided he liked when they were smoother, and was determined to get the slave to relax.
"Lie down."
Esca cautiously shifted and lied down, slumping on the raised end and looked more like a dullard than the proud man he was.
Marcus shook his head. He took hold of Esca's arm over his tattoo, the skin feeling warm to the touch and the muscles underneath hard with tension. He easily lifted him to lie further up. He took a hold of his hip and turned him to lie on his side. The arm nearest the chair he rested on the raised cushion. He smoothed his hand down Esca's side, amazed to feel the body under his palm seem to relax into his touches. He carefully gripped his leg, bending it to lie over the other. He lastly draped the other arm on his waist, the palm resting against his belly.
Marcus straightened and moved back to stand beside his station. He had unwittingly posed Esca more like a woman than he had intended, and his lack of curve on his side made it look rather awkward.
He moved back and lied Esca on his back again, the slave pliant under his hands. He moved the arm behind him to rest under his naval. Marcus was amazed to find the slave had hardened somewhat during his touching. He made no acknowledgment of it lest the slave become tense because of it. He bent a leg up to partly hide the area from the picture. The other arm went back on the cushion.
Now, as Marcus stepped back, he thought Esca looked more like a man, the warm sun from the large window was bright against his pale skin, almost making him glow.
"Comfortable?" Marcus asked as he sat at his station again.
Esca glanced down at himself, a blush beginning to stain his cheeks and move down his chest. He finally nodded.
"May I paint your blushing now?" Marcus teased.
Esca glanced over to Marcus, glancing down at his still bare chest before looking towards the window again. "As you wish."
