Hey y'all!
Just thought I'd mosey on in, since we've got 8 days until Matt's first appearance on the track at Daytona (Don't forget! He gets to run the Bud Shootout!) and just kinda re-go-over the rules and let you know what stuff I have in motion for this season.
1) Be nice to each other!
2) No driver bashing! NONE, do you hear me? A lot of people are fans of more than one driver, me included. So, don't come in here and bash anyone.
3) Spoilers. I have to change the policy on spoilers a bit. PLEASE use the lj-cut if you are posting directly after a race, because there are members who may have to work or have other things they need to do during the races, so, please, be respectful of that. Go at least a day, so those of us who may be in a situation where they can't see the race live can watch the tape of the race or the nightly racing news programs. Thanks. If you need to know how to use the lj-cut, please refer to the FAQ here.
4) IPR (In Person Reports) are not only welcomed, they are encouraged! Did you go to a race? We wanna hear about it! Did you get to meet Matt? Tell us about it!
5) Graphics - For a handful of LJ icons that you may want to give away or share, or even just show off, I'm not gonna get too persnickity. If it's more than 4 icons, or a big picture (Anything from nascar.com, mattkenseth.com, motorsport.com, etc. etc.) please use the lj-cut so we don't screw up everyone's friends pages.
6) We have a sorta web affiliate, although, it's really only because I made the thing. Guaranteed Tough: The Matt Kenseth Fanlisting is open for business! This is the official fanlisting, approved by thefanlistings.org, and it's totally free! You don't need to have a webpage to join, hell, if you want, you can use your LJ! Put a graphic on your userinfo page! Go! Join! Be listed!
Fun and Games
This season, I'm gonna try something. We're gonna have a weekly contest. It's gonna go like this. On Wednesday or Thursday nights, I'll set up a poll. Questions will be as follows:
1) Who's going to get the pole for the [insert race here]?
2) Who will win?
3) Where will Matt finish?
I'll keep track of it in my handy dandy notebook and for every one of the questions that you get right, you'll get a point. At the midway point of the season, I'll hand out awards. (Nothing big, like a DeWalt drill or something. It'll be a graphic or something that you can put in your LJ. Or something. Haven't worked that out yet.)
At the midway point of the season, I'll start all over.
If, by chance, you manage to get all three questions right, you'll get an LJ icon! Whee!
