For a while there, I thought I’d blog at least a few words once a day, but that won’t work. I had a complication that required 100% of my attention. It’s passed (so to speak) and I’m back.
-- I just finished reading the Yard Dog version of Fairy BrewHaHa at the Lucky Nickel Saloon. In many ways, I like it better than the Five Star version. The book is flawed in many ways, but Selina Rosen took a more hands-on approach to editing and I like the result in the text.
-- Just got my box of Where Angels Fear. A damn good looking book. I wish I could show it off at WHC this weekend, but alas, as they say…
-- Saw jacket copy of Pax Dakota. Blurbs from the Gear’s, Jim Glass, Lee Modesitt, and Louise Marley (see my grin) and an unsolicited blurb from Pedestal magazine written by JoSelle Vanderhooft. If blurbs sell, I’ll be okay. (I did get a PW review but they panned the book.)
-- My friend Lynde Iozzo of Colorado is finishing a stage version of the Port Chicago story and we’re working with contacts in the San Francisco Bay Area to see if we can get at least a readers’ theater version of the play produced this summer, maybe at the annual town reunion.
-- It’s getting to be time to send out review copies of Port Chicago Isn’t There Anymore-But We Still Call It Home, so my next e-mail will be to Patrick to see where we are on the project.

Well of course, there’s more, but I’m going to take a nap now, so it’ll have to wait.
