Ohhhh, snap...it's Q&A time on the bloggasphere!

H/T to Edmond Manning for keeping the Q&A going:

What is the working title of your book?
Je Me Souviens

Where did the idea come from for the book?
First a guy that I dated when I was 28; then the Bush Administration

What genre does your book fall under?
Near future/dystopia

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie?
LOL, need to finish the book first! First things first. :)

What is a one sentence synopsis of your book?
Four individuals from across the U.S. struggle to find meaning, safety, and community following the Balkanization of the U.S. along political/ideological lines.

Will your book be self published, published by a small press, or represented by an agency?
Most likely self-published or small press--not sure it's the kind of thing a big publisher would want. My novel has no zombies, vampires, or fantasies of S&M, so it's automatically disqualified from the Flavors of the Month...

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
Going on 15 years and counting. Real life and several major events have gotten in the way over the years, and I haven't gotten it to a stage where I'd even want a Beta editor to look at it yet. :p

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
At the risk of sounding horribly arrogant, I'm not sure I can compare it to any other book out there. Maybe Stephen King's The Stand, but minus the supernatural/pandemic aspects.

Who or what inspired you to write this book?
See answer to 2nd question above.
What else about your book might interest the reader?
Lots of sex, drugs, and rock n' roll. Okay, maybe not the drugs, but two out of three ain't bad.
