Okay, I gotta stop that. Angel's energy starting to rub off on me. I'm crazy enough as it is.
Anyway, they're gonna start filming in about a year, and we'll have the movie by about 2010. They're also gonna do another sequel the following year, but no word yet on what that will be. Already, there is an outcry to have Ian Holm reprise his role as Bilbo. Personally, I'd like to see them frame it, with Bilbo in, say, his eighties or something, writing the actual book, and then have a younger actor (preferably one who LOOKS like Ian Holm) play the young Bilbo. That way, we can have Ian Holm shown as his distinguished, elder self and also narrate the story. It would also give us an interesting ending to see Bilbo when he's older, and have the movie close with him holding the ring in his hand. That would be SW33T!!!
To my four compadres out there who dressed up as Sam, Pippin, Merry, and Frodo, it may be time for another curtain call.
