I can just imagine you sitting in a bathtub in the middle of Ohio with a $1.3 million dollar ELINT system pulled up alongside. And a little floating battleship for the tub too. Snicker, well there's a IACP idea.

AEGIS is currently the most advanced naval missle defence system in the world. It's a combination of technologies of detection, communications, and of defense through missile platforms and close-quarter Vulcan gatling guns. The US and Britain use the system after being developed by the US and Japan, through the companies of Mitsubishi, Rayteon, and (<3) Lockheed Martin (for the most part). Detection wise, AEGIS uses all availible radars and other, more blackballed, means of detecting inbound air threats (from old prop-driven Russian Bears to the deadly Harpoon anti-ship missle). It is able to connect and operate on every ship of a carrier fleet, pooling both weapons and computing power to be able to hit, erm... about 18 billion dollars of inbounds (say 120 missles: 70 harpoons, 20 HARMS, 20 decoys, 10 ukns and 60 4th generation aircraft-medium build). Defense wise, its pure pwnage.
