It's Almost Here!

Those of you who've been keeping up with me know that we're only a day and some change away from my LASIK surgery. I can safely say I'm both nervous and excited for the "zero day" where evolution will bring me a step further. I'm still hoping and praying (to whatever higher power still likes/tolerates what I do in this human vessel) that it all goes off perfectly and without any ridiculous complications (namely permanent blindness). Chances are it will, but that goddamn consent form weirds me the hell out. I s'pose it's just to cover their asses and to fully disclose anything that can possibly go wrong. I'm just glad that the surgery itself takes like 20 minutes or so. I'll obviously have some updates on it after the whole thing is done and I'm able to go back to looking at things and staring at screens and so forth. Wish me luck!

So in other news, there's a big difference between going into work at 6am and thinking you'll have your day to you, and then actually LIVING in that post-work time. To elaborate, on Sunday I was asked to come in at 6am so that I could help deal with the shitstorm that is back to school stuff piling up in the warehouse. Grudgingly, I agreed to but - in a mistake conjured up only by me - stayed up all night and went in. I stuck around until about quarter after 1, and then came home. The "rest of the day" I thought I'd get turned out to be eating a bowl of Total, then going to take a 4 hour nap. By the time I was up and showered, I may as well have just been out of work normally. Damn human body of mine. Anyway, that setback aside, I'm beginning to see an enhancement in my paycheck, which is bomb ass but expected...ya know, considering how I'm working more. Still no mention of a raise, but it's damn sure getting me through the days and weeks so that I can get to my vacation quicker.

The belt test grows closer! July 24th is when it's happening (if I didn't mention it before), and I'm still just as stoked to be whoppin' some ass and getting that green belt. Additionally, an odd thing happened today, as I was going there. Turns out the power was out for about 45 minutes at the school. Here I thought it was just a clever idea to somehow beat the heat. Guess who the joke was on when I tried using the bathroom. Nevertheless, my improvisational perseverance paid off, and all was well just before workout class started. I still can't help but think that by the time next week's classes roll around. I'll have "normal" eyes and there's a good chance I'll be a very dangerous person.

Honestly, the biggest occurrence at the moment is this. I'm still damn curious as to how this is all gonna happen, etc. and so forth. I bet it's a believable thing for any of you who've had it before, but I think I'm still stuck in the mindset that glasses/contacts were the only way to fix eye problems. I s'pose I'll be made a believer on Friday though. Again, wish me luck! for now I'm heading off, since I really don't have much else to write about (sad, isn't it?). Hope everyone's still doing well out there, and that y'all paid your respects on Father's Day. As for me, I'm gonna go face the depressive results of free dating sites because I'm single, sad, and because I can. See y'all when I'm next able to update with my improved eyesight!
